The fruit
PEACH (Prunus persica)
Peaches were first cultivated by the Chinese 3000 years ago and reached Italy via Persia which explains why the Romans called them “mala persica” or Persian apple.
Despite being low in calories, peaches have a good vitamin content. Known to stimulate the kidneys and intestine, they also enhance digestion.
