Cranberries are widely cultivated in America for both food and health products. Other countries include Canada, Cile and parts of Eastern Europe. This plant produces well in hedgerows and marsh land but requires extensive farmland for cultivation. The berries are a brilliant red and contain great quantities of antioxidants and organic acids as well as anti-bacterial substances that are effective on the urinary tract. Also rich in Vitamin C, fibre and calcium.
