CHERRY (Prunus avium, Prunus cerasus)
Cherries belong to the rose tree family. Sweet cherries derive from the Prunus avium while bitter, morel cherries are Prunus cerasus. Cherries are rich in polyflavanoids (fighting free radicals), are thirst quenching, depurative and purifying, so much so that they are recommended to aid articulation caused by gout. High in fibre and minerals, they are also rich in vitamines A & C.
